A local government authority in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking an experienced Traffic Signals Designer to improve traffic flow and congestion issues. The successful candidate will utilize computer simulations and design innovative solutions to enhance the city’s transport systems. Candidates should have experience with AutoCAD and advanced programming, as well as a strong background in traffic management. This position promises a key role in shaping the future of the city’s transport infrastructure.

This is an exciting time to be joining the Traffic Signals team working alongside the Urban Traffic Management and Control team as we work to deliver major transport improvement schemes not just in Newcastle, but also working with partners in the other northeast local authorities.
The successful post holder will have a proven track record and recent experience of designing innovative solutions to traffic congestion and progression problems. You will make use of computer simulation models and calculations based on site parameters in order to optimise capacity and non‑delay through the network. You will also be skilled in a number of software modelling packages, AutoCAD, complex configurations and advanced programming.
