Job summary

B&Q is seeking a Trade Business Development Manager to support the TradePoint membership across dual sites in St Albans and Hemel Hempstead. You will drive commercial growth, manage key trade customers and build lasting partnerships to deliver sustainable sales and margin improvement.

The role offers a competitive salary (£36,200–£46,300) plus a store location allowance (£1,031) and a quarterly bonus up to 20% OTE, with strong earning potential for high performers.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of driving sales growth in a Trade/Business-to-Business environment.
• Strong relationship management and influence across customer networks.
• Ability to generate demand and build a robust pipeline with clear follow-up.
• Excellent planning, organisation and follow-up discipline.
• Driving licence is required to enable field-based activities.

Responsibilities

• Own and grow a defined book of trade members with accountability for sales, margin and repeat spend.
• Proactively generate high-quality leads weekly through local networking and market insight.
• Build, manage and convert a structured pipeline from lead to outcome with clear follow-up routines.
• Drive repeat project spend and convert one-off transactions into long-term customer relationships.
• Make commercially sound pricing and discounting decisions to balance conversion and margin.
• Use data and local insights to prioritise high-value opportunities and potential growth.
