Job summary

B&Q plc is seeking a Trade Business Development Manager to grow and manage a portfolio of TradePoint members from our Dearne Valley location. The role focuses on generating demand, building long-term relationships and delivering sustainable sales growth in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will own the sales pipeline, negotiate pricing, and collaborate across Store, B2B, and supplier teams to maximise margin and customer value. A proactive, results-driven approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in driving sales growth within Trade.
• Experience managing customer portfolios and projects.

Responsibilities

• Own and grow a defined book of trade members with accountability for sales and margin.
• Proactively generate high-quality leads weekly through local networking and market insight.
• Build and manage a structured pipeline from lead to outcome with follow-up routines.
• Drive repeat project spend and convert transactions into long-term relationships.
• Make pricing and discounting decisions balancing conversion with margin delivery.
• Use data and insight to prioritise high-value opportunities; partner with B2B where appropriate.
• Collaborate with store, B2B, and suppliers to unlock growth opportunities.
