Job summary

Thames Water, the UK’s largest water and wastewater company, is seeking a Trade Effluent Billing Technologist to support accurate billing for non-domestic customers. The hybrid role is a 10–12 month secondment, focusing on resolving queries and ensuring regulatory compliance under the Water Industry Act 1991 and MOSL Market Codes.

You will build relationships with retailers, deliver excellent customer service, and help maintain Thames Water’s reputation while handling data and billing processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles delivering quality service.
• Strong communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills across stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret written information and work with data.
• IT literate and proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Trade Effluent charges are calculated and raised accurately for non-domestic customers.
• Communicate with retailers, other water companies and internal teams to resolve billing queries and ensure compliance.
• Respond to retailer enquiries within service levels with clear and accurate information.
