Job summary

Thames Water Utilities Limited is seeking a Trade Effluent Billing Technologist to join our Asset Operations & Capital Delivery team on a 10-12 month secondment. You will ensure accurate and fair billing of trade effluent services for business customers in a hybrid role across Beckton, Clearwater Court, Crossness and Walnut Court.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles and delivering quality service.
• Strong communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills across different stakeholders.
• Confidence working with data and interpreting written information.
• IT literate, comfortable with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Making sure Trade Effluent charges are calculated and raised correctly for non-domestic customers.
• Communicating with retailers, other water companies, and internal teams to resolve billing queries and ensure compliance.
• Responding to retailer enquiries within set service levels, providing clear and accurate information.
• Supporting the Trade Effluent team in meeting regulatory obligations under the Water Industry Act 1991 and MOSL Market Codes.
• Building strong working relationships with retailers to improve performance measures (such as BRMEX scores).
• Delivering excellent customer service to retailers and customers, helping to maintain Thames Water’s reputation.
