Job summary

A leading manufacturer of high-quality plastic parts in Oxfordshire is seeking a Lead Plastic Injection Mould Toolmaker. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience, be proficient in CNC machining and CAD/CAM, and capable of maintaining and producing high-quality injection mould tools. This permanent, full-time position offers a competitive salary up to £45k, benefits including pension, and excellent work-life balance with early finishes on Fridays.

Qualifications

  • Apprentice toolmaker with 5 or more years of experience in plastic injection moulding.

  • Experience with hot runner systems, valve gates, and manifolds.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture new injection mould tools from technical drawings and 3D CAD data.
  • Maintain and modify existing tooling.
  • Produce fully hardened steel production tools.

Job description

A leading manufacturer of high quality plastic injection moulded parts and assemblies is now looking for a Lead Plastic Injection Mould Toolmaker to join their Oxfordshire facility.

The successful applicant will be apprentice trained or a qualified plastic injection mould toolmaker. Reporting to the Toolroom Manager, you will be responsible for the manufacture of new injection mould tools from technical drawings and 3D CAD data to a high level of workmanship in an efficient and cost effective manner. You will also maintain and modify existing tooling. With previous experience of CNC machining and CAD/CAM software, you will produce fully hardened steel production tools.

This role is offered on a permanent, full time, day shift, with excellent benefits, including early finish on Fridays, occasional overtime, 25 days holiday + BH, pension scheme, and free parking.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Apprentice toolmaker with 5 or more years’ experience in plastic injection moulding; or a qualified plastic injection mould tool toolmaker.
  • Proven experience in CNC and CAD/CAM, working with steel / hardened steel.
  • Experience with hot runner systems / valve gates and manifolds.

  • Candidates must be eligible to work and live in the UK, without requiring sponsorship. Copies of passports and visas will be requested for verification.

Salary / benefits: up to £45k, plus occasional overtime, pension and benefits.
