The role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Band 5 Registered Practitioner (Nurse or ODP) to join our expert team in the Minimally Invasive TreatmentUnit (MITU) at The London Clinic. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside leading consultants and theatre teams, delivering high-quality perioperative care across a range of surgical specialties, with a focus on Urology, Gynaecology and ENT.

You will play a vital role in preparing and managing surgical equipment, supporting procedures from start to finish, and ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care throughout the perioperative journey.

Key Duties

  • Prepare, assemble, and check surgical instruments, equipment, and consumables for a range of procedures, ensuring readiness for each surgical list.
  • Undertake the scrub role in a professional and proficient manner, including completing all mandatory surgical checks.
  • Support safe patient positioning and transfer before, during, and after procedures.
  • Act in the circulating role when required, maintaining safe and efficient theatre operations.
  • Maintain stock control and ensure equipment is in optimal working order.
  • Contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives and share ideas for service development.
  • Support and mentor junior colleagues, acting as a positive role model within the team.

Skills and Experience

  • Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).
  • Minimum of one year’s post-registration theatre experience.
  • Demonstrable scrub skills, ideally with experience in Urology, Gynaecology, and ENT.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexible, organised, and able to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
