Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is seeking a Theatre Scheduler to support the theatre scheduling service and pre‑operative team. The role includes booking preoperative appointments, adding patients to the waiting list, and coordinating admissions for elective procedures using the PAS system.

You will input data into ORMIS, maintain confidentiality, and liaise with patients and consultants. The post requires flexibility and collaboration within the team to meet national waiting

Qualifications

• Experience with theatre scheduling would be beneficial.
• Strong data entry and accuracy

Responsibilities

• Support theatre scheduling service to deliver high quality scheduling.
• Add patients to waiting list and arrange admissions using PAS system.
• Input data onto ORMIS per policy and ensure dates are set in advance.
• Escalate issues to line manager promptly.
• Understand and align with RTT and waiting time targets; escalate exceptions.
• Handle complex telephone enquiries about theatre scheduling; escalate when needed.
• Provide team cover and assist in information preparation for appointments.
• Attend meetings with consultants regarding waiting list pressures and theatre access.
