Job summary

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is seeking a proactive Scheduler to join the Division of Surgery, supporting the Head & Neck Team with theatre and outpatient list planning. The role focuses on achieving cancer targets, managing RTT timelines, and maintaining efficient patient booking and communications.

The post holder will coordinate with senior clinicians and nursing staff, ensuring compliance with internal and national targets while prioritising workload and maintaining smooth telephone

Qualifications

• Knowledge of WG guidelines.
• Knowledge of Referral to Treatment Times.
• Knowledge of Single Cancer Pathway Targets.
• Detailed Knowledge of WPAS.
• Detailed Knowledge of Clinical Workstation.
• Knowledge of GDPR.
• Detailed Knowledge of Ormis.

Responsibilities

• Ensure cancer targets are achieved.
• Ensure patients are prevented from breaching targets.
• Theatre capacity is utilised and cancellations are kept to a minimum.
• Regular communication with the Team Leader and Urology consultants and clinical nursing team.
• All theatres are booked within internal and national targets, including RTT and 'Treat in Turn'.
• Patient focused booking and direct patient booking are utilised to increase utilisation and reduce DNA rates.
• Ensure an efficient telephone service is maintained.
