Job summary

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies Scheduler to receive referrals and schedule patients for outpatient SACT, ensuring timely and safe treatment pathways.

Responsibilities

• Receive referrals and schedule patients for outpatient SACT for cancer.
• Allocate appointment slots for each stage of the treatment process, liaising with relevant staff as necessary.
• Participate in all aspects of the administration service within the unit as required.
• Contribute to delivering a high standard of patient care as part of the MDT.
• Maintain awareness of service delivery developments and contribute to change implementation.
• Participate in meetings as required.
• Communicate effectively and compassionately with all patients and stakeholders.
• Support the unit manager with data collection and audits as required.
• Update appointments following treatment changes, deferrals, or cancellations as instructed by clinical staff.
• Signpost patients to appropriate clinical staff if they have treatment-related questions or concerns.
• Maintain confidentiality and data integrity in line with GDPR and Trust policies.
• Contribute positively to a culture of safety, teamwork, and service excellence.
