Job summary

Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital is seeking a Theatre Practitioner (ODP/Scrub) to join our perioperative team on a bank, part-time basis. You will work within a multi-disciplinary theatre team, providing high-quality scrub perioperative care.

Registered with the relevant body (NMC/HCPC) and post-registration scrub experience are essential. The role offers weekend work and pay up to £26.50 per hour, with access to our benefits package.

Qualifications

• Registered with the appropriate governing body (NMC or HCPC).
• Post-registration experience in Scrub roles within a Theatre environment.

Responsibilities

• Work in a multi disciplinary team covering a varied patient caseload
• Use state-of-the-art technology, equipment and facilities
• Supervise, support and develop junior members of the team
• Provide high-quality perioperative care in a multidisciplinary team setting
• Create high-quality care and patient experiences that are clinically effective and evidence based
• Have ample opportunities for continuous growth and personal development, including Surgical First Assist training

Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability.

About the Hospital

Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital The Exeter Nuffield hospital is based next to the RD&E hospital in Wonford, Exeter. The hospital has 2 theatres, as well as a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory/theatre and an Endoscopy suite. There are two ward areas: an inpatient area with 21 beds and a day-case ward with 12 beds. We also have a busy outpatient department, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and radiology department including an MRI scanner. We specialise in elective orthopaedic and spinal surgery, cardiology including invasive procedures, general surgery, plastics and cosmetic surgery, ENT, and gynaecology. The Hospital has a MAKO robot that undertakes some of the joint replacement surgery which we have become well known for in this field of surgery.
