Job summary

Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital is seeking a Theatre Practitioner (ODP/ SCRUB) for the Exeter site. This role is bank/part-time with weekend work and pays up to £26.50 per hour depending on experience.

You will join a dedicated team delivering high-quality perioperative care across multiple theatres. The successful candidate will be registered (NMC/HCPC) with post-registration scrub experience, and will contribute to multidisciplinary care, training junior staff, and ongoing professional

Qualifications

• Registered with the appropriate governing body (NMC or HCPC).
• Post-registration experience in Scrub roles within a theatre environment.
• Experience in a multi-disciplinary surgical team is essential.

Responsibilities

• Work in a multi-disciplinary team covering a varied patient caseload.
• Use state-of-the-art technology, equipment and facilities.
• Supervise, support and develop junior team members.
• Provide high-quality perioperative care in a multidisciplinary setting.

As a Scrub Practitioner/ Theatre Practitioner (ODP) at our hospital, you’ll be focused, detail-oriented empathetic with great communication skills. You’re registered with the appropriate governing body, and you bring the qualifications and experience relevant to your registration, including NMC or HCPC. With post-registration experience in Scrub roles within a Theatre environment, you’re a team player with a passion for exceptional patient care.

As a Scrub Practitioner or Theatre Practitioner (ODP), you will:

• Use state-of-the-art technology, equipment and facilities
• Supervise, support and develop junior members of the team
• Provide high-quality perioperative care in a multidisciplinary team setting

Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital

The Exeter Nuffield hospital is based next to the RD&E hospital in Wonford, Exeter. The hospital has 2 theatres, as well as a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory/theatre and an Endoscopy suite. There are two ward areas: an inpatient area with 21 beds and a day-case ward with 12 beds. We also have a busy outpatient department, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and radiology department including an MRI scanner. We specialise in elective orthopaedic and spinal surgery, cardiology including invasive procedures, general surgery, plastics and cosmetic surgery, ENT, and gynaecology. The Hospital has a MAKO robot that undertakes some of the joint replacement surgery which we have become well known for in this field of surgery.
