Job summary

Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital is seeking a Theatre Practitioner (Scrub/ODP) to join our nursing team. The role requires registration with the NMC or HCPC, post‑registration scrub experience, and a patient‑centred approach in a fast-paced surgical environment.

You will work 37.5 hours per week with the potential for weekend work, and a salary up to £39,000 depending on experience. There is a £2,000 enhancement if qualified Surgical First Assistant (SFA).

• Post-registration scrub experience in theatre.
• Demonstrated commitment to high-quality patient care in perioperative settings.

As a Scrub Practitioner/ Theatre Practitioner (ODP) at our hospital, you'll be focused, detail-oriented empathetic with great communication skills. You're registered with the appropriate governing body, and you bring the qualifications and experience relevant to your registration, including NMC or HCPC. With post-registration experience in Scrub roles within a Theatre environment, you're a team player with a passion for exceptional patient care.

As a Scrub Practitioner or Theatre Practitioner (ODP),you will:

The Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital is situated next to the Nuffield Health Devonshire Gym, in Derriford, Plymouth and we have been part of the Plymouth community since 1971. We have 3 main theatres - 2 laminar flow and 1 digital, a fully JAG accredited endoscopy suite, a 35-bedded ward with one 4 bedded bay and one 2 bedded bay. Our outpatients department has 12 consulting rooms. We carry out treatment under a range of specialities including Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery and Neurosurgery. We recently were rated in the top 50 hospitals in the country for our total hip replacement patient outcomes.
