Job summary

Howdens Joinery is seeking a Territory Sales Representative to grow our local trade customer base across your defined territory. This role is field-based with autonomy to manage workload and drive sustainable growth through strong relationships and teamwork.

You will win new business, nurture accounts, and partner with depot teams to increase spend and trading frequency. A company car and comprehensive benefits support your success.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of winning new business or working in a target-driven sales role.
• Confident engaging trade customers from first conversation.
• Self-motivated, resilient with a drive to succeed.
• Ability to build product and service knowledge in joinery and hardware.
• Strong organization skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Full UK driving license is required.

Responsibilities

• Win new business by proactively approaching prospective customers and converting opportunities into new accounts.
• Build and grow the account base across your territory, supporting each depot’s performance.
• Introduce new customers to the Howdens model and articulate benefits and process.
• Collaborate with depot teams to increase account spend and trading frequency.
• Build strong, lasting relationships with new and existing account holders.
• Handle customer enquiries professionally from first contact to resolution.
• Contribute insights and performance updates in team meetings.
• Keep data accurate and visible across activity and pipeline.
• Work safely and in line with Health & Safety standards.
