Job summary

AWD Recruitment is seeking an Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager to own a defined sales territory across Portsmouth and surrounding areas. You will win new business, grow existing accounts and build valuable relationships with contractors, merchants and developers.

You will combine field-based selling with pipeline development, delivering practical insulation and construction solutions across the region.

Qualifications

• Previous area/territory sales experience
• Experience within insulation, drylining, construction or building materials
• Strong knowledge of insulation and drylining products and their applications
• Understanding of the construction supply chain and customer requirements
• Proven ability to develop new business, grow existing accounts and achieve sales targets
• Strong sales, negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills

Responsibilities

• Ownership of sales performance across the designated area
• Develop existing customer relationships and identify opportunities for additional business
• Identify, approach and win new customers while maintaining a healthy sales pipeline
• Visit customers and recommend practical, commercially effective product solutions
• Build relationships with contractors, merchants, developers and other construction professionals
• Prepare and negotiate quotations and manage opportunities through to completion
• Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to deliver excellent customer service
• Monitor market conditions and competitor activity
