Job summary

Howdens Joinery is recruiting a Territory Sales Representative to grow our local trade customer base across your defined territory. This field-based role rewards proactive networking, winning new business, and turning conversations into long-term partnerships, with autonomy to manage your workload alongside depot colleagues.

You will build product knowledge in joinery and hardware, maintain strong relationships, and drive account spend while adhering to Health & Safety standards.

Qualifications

• Track record of winning new business in a target-driven sales role.
• Confident engaging trade customers from first conversation.
• Self-motivated and resilient with drive to succeed.
• Ability to build product knowledge in joinery and hardware.
• Strong organisational skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Win new business by proactively approaching prospective customers and converting opportunities into new accounts.
• Build and grow the account base across your territory, supporting each depot’s performance.
• Introduce new customers to Howdens model, clearly articulating how it works and why it delivers.
• Collaborate with depot teams to build account spend and drive more frequent trading.
• Build strong, lasting relationships with both new and existing account holders.
• Take ownership of customer enquiries, managing them from first contact through to resolution.
• Participate in team meetings, providing insight and performance updates.
• Keep data accurate and up to date, ensuring visibility across activity and pipeline.
• Work safely and in line with Health & Safety standards.
