Job summary

Smiths Group is seeking an Account Manager to cover the North West. You will drive profitable growth by converting enquiries into orders, expanding market presence, and developing new customer accounts. You will collaborate with engineering and tender teams while upholding health, safety and compliance.

The role is hybrid with regular travel to customer sites and reports to the Senior Regional Sales Manager. Strong technical and relationship-building skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Account Manager in industrial, mechanical, or engineering sectors.
• Strong communication skills, written and spoken.
• Ability to manage finances including planning and budgeting.
• Experience with key accounts development and tender processes.
• Familiarity with CRM and sales reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop growth plan for allocated territory and deliver on company objectives.
• Identify, secure and grow new customer accounts.
• Maintain existing accounts and ensure service delivery.
• Promote and sell John Crane products following pricing guidelines.
• Collaborate with tender and engineering teams to support tender delivery.
• Prepare monthly sales reports.
• Ensure health, safety and compliance in all activities.
