Job summary

Sodexo at St Mary’s Roman Catholic High School, Lugwardine, Hereford, is looking for a Cook to support the Cook Manager in delivering high‑quality food and managing kitchen operations for 100–1300 students. You’ll work regular daytime hours with no unsociable shifts and enjoy public holidays off, including Christmas.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 years of hands-on cooking experience.
• Training on Food Hygiene and Health & Safety will be given.
• Experience cooking on a large scale for 100–1300 students.
• Experience following recipes in a similar setting.
• Experience with fresh produce and ingredients.
• Adherence to health and safety procedures is essential.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a busy kitchen.
• Professional, leading by example with a positive attitude.
• Hold basic food handling skills certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, present and serve food to standards for breakfast, lunch and hospitality.
• Adhere to company compliance on food safety, HACCP, allergens and COSHH.
• Carry out craft/skills training for catering staff.
• Present service counters and food to company standards.
• Portion dishes according to business requirements.
• Complete daily/weekly cleaning of prep and storage areas and waste removal.
• Deliver high standards of customer service, cleanliness and operations.
