Job summary

Sodexo at Westacre Middle School in Droitwich is seeking a Cook to assist the Cook Manager in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations and finances for the school’s food services. You will showcase dishes, present offerings appealingly and support a team delivering high-quality meals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year hands-on cooking experience.
• Experience cooking for large groups (100–1300 students).
• Experience following recipes and using fresh produce.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures and allergen controls.
• Hold basic food handling skills certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, present and serve food to company standards for breakfast, morning break, lunch and hospitality.
• Adhere to Food safety, Health & Safety, Allergen awareness, COSHH and HACCP regulations.
• Carry out craft/skills training for catering staff.
• Ensure counters and food are presented to company standards.
• Guarantee each dish is portioned according to business requirements.
• Complete daily/weekly cleaning duties and manage waste removal.
• Deliver high standards of customer service, cleanliness and tidiness.
