Sodexo at Ebbsfleet Green Primary School is seeking a Cook Manager to lead the school kitchen, overseeing food, service quality and financials. You will manage a team, develop menus, and ensure health and safety compliance for 100–1300 students.

You will benefit from Sodexo's resources, training and wellbeing programs while working a Monday–Friday pattern during term time. This role emphasizes leadership and high standards in a dynamic school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking for large school populations (100–1300 students).
• Experience following recipes in a similar setting.
• Previous staff supervision or line management experience.
• Experience with fresh produce and ingredients.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures and compliance.
• Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines in a busy kitchen.
• Professional, leading by example with a positive attitude.
• Hold basic food handling certifications like NVQ Level 2 and Level 2 Food Safety; training on Food Hygiene, Health & Safety provided.

Responsabilités

• Oversee replenishment and end-of-service area dismantling.
• Develop, mentor, train and inspire the kitchen team.
• Control catering operation costs including labour, food and stock.
• Manage and optimise all controllable costs.
• Ensure uniform food and service standards for staff, visitors and students.
• Create and develop menus and conduct routine audits.
