Tenancy Sustainment Officer

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Tenancy Sustainment Officer to support vulnerable residents to maintain their tenancies and live independently within a respected Housing Association in West Kent.

THE ROLE

As a Tenancy Sustainment Officer, you will provide holistic, person-centred support to residents with complex needs, helping them to sustain their tenancies and improve their overall wellbeing.

  • Manage a caseload of vulnerable residents, carrying out assessments, home visits and ongoing support
  • Deliver tenancy-related support focused on independence, stability and positive outcomes
  • Provide crisis intervention and immediate support where required
  • Support residents to access welfare benefits, discretionary funding and appeal decisions
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external statutory and voluntary agencies
  • Develop and maintain support plans using strengths-based and outcomes-focused approaches
  • Maintain accurate case notes, meet KPIs and contribute to reports, case studies and service improvements
THE CANDIDATE
  • Previous experience in a similar tenancy sustainment, housing support or support worker role within housing, local authority or the voluntary sector.
  • Experience supporting vulnerable people with complex needs such as mental health, substance misuse or domestic abuse.
  • Strong knowledge of welfare benefits, housing legislation and tenancy sustainment best practice.
  • Proven ability to deliver person-centred, outcome-focused support.
  • Excellent communication, engagement and multi-agency working skills.
  • Confident lone worker with knowledge of safeguarding and risk management.
THE CONTRACT

WORKING HOURS
37 hours per week
9:00-17:00 Monday-Friday

£34,714.00 per year, plus benefits
