Niyaa People is recruiting on behalf of a leading social housing provider for an experienced Temporary Accommodation Officer in Shaftesbury to provide proactive housing management and support to residents at risk of homelessness.

You will work with individuals and families in temporary accommodation to help them maintain their tenancy, maximise income and progress towards secure, permanent housing, while coordinating with partner agencies and authorities.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in housing, supported housing, homelessness, temporary accommodation or related care environment.
• Knowledge of housing management and tenancy sustainment.
• Experience with vulnerable residents and complex needs, with safeguarding awareness.
• Knowledge of welfare benefits and financial inclusion.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and with partners.
• Good IT skills and accurate record keeping.

Aufgaben

• Manage a caseload of residents in temporary accommodation, providing housing advice, guidance and tenancy sustainment support.
• Develop personal housing plans with residents and support their move towards permanent accommodation.
• Provide advice and assistance with Housing Benefit, Universal Credit, PIP, appeals and income maximisation.
• Monitor rent accounts and arrears, working with residents and accounts teams to establish budgeting plans.
• Manage tenancy terminations, voids and allocations to minimise void turnaround times.
• Respond proactively to ASB, safeguarding concerns, and liaise with external agencies.
• Undertake regular inspections, ensure properties and communal areas are safe and well maintained.
• Maintain accurate housing and customer records in line with data requirements.
• Work with supported housing teams, local authorities, social services and voluntary-sector providers.
