Job summary

Niyaa People is seeking an experienced Housing Officer to join a Plymouth-based housing team on an initial 8-week temporary contract. You will cover a patch of bungalows for older residents, delivering proactive tenancy management and a responsive, customer-focused housing service.

Responsibilities include managing tenancy matters, addressing complaints and anti-social behaviour, and working with partners to resolve issues while maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Housing Officer or tenancy management role.
• Strong understanding of tenancy management procedures and housing legislation.
• Experience handling tenancy issues, complaints and anti-social behaviour.
• Ability to manage a caseload, prioritise demands and work independently.
• Excellent communication and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage a designated patch of properties and tenancy management activities.
• Respond to tenancy-related enquiries and complaints with timely resolutions.
• Identify and address tenancy breaches, anti-social behaviour and estate issues.
• Undertake estate inspections and visits, coordinating follow-up actions.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external agencies and partners on housing matters.
• Engage with residents to understand views and concerns.
• Maintain accurate records and case notes.
• Monitor tenancy issues and act according to policies and legislation.
• Support safe, well-maintained neighbourhoods for older residents.
