Job summary

Warwick District Council is seeking a proactive Temporary Accommodation Facilities Officer to join our housing services team. The role focuses on managing temporary accommodation stock, ensuring properties are ready for occupation, maintaining safety standards and coordinating with repairs, cleaning and inspections.

You will work with the Voids Team and contractors to turn around properties quickly, support residents experiencing housing difficulties, and maintain accurate records of occupancy,

Qualifications

• Oversee temporary accommodation stock, maintain accurate records of property condition, occupancy, availability and outstanding works.
• Coordinate property inspections, repairs, cleaning and preparation with the Voids Team and contractors.
• Undertake readiness checks to ensure accommodation meets required standards before move-in.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the temporary accommodation stock across Warwick District, maintaining accurate records of property condition, occupancy, availability and outstanding works.
• Work closely with the Voids Team to coordinate property inspections, repairs, cleaning and preparation, ensuring vacant accommodation is returned to use promptly.
• Undertake property inspections and readiness checks to ensure accommodation meets the required standards before individuals and households move in.
• Monitor repairs, maintenance issues and property compliance, liaising with contractors and relevant teams to ensure issues are resolved within agreed timescales.
• Identify properties that are unavailable or delayed from being brought back into use and proactively work with colleagues to resolve outstanding issues.
• Work as part of a wider team of administrative staff and support workers, contributing to the effective day-to-day management of temporary accommodation and the support provided to residents.
• Liaise with colleagues to ensure property-related issues affecting residents are identified, communicated and addressed appropriately.
• Monitor the condition and availability of furnishings, appliances, fixtures and fittings, arranging repairs or replacements where necessary.
• Maintain accurate property records and provide updates on accommodation availability, outstanding repairs, turnaround times and performance.
• Support compliance with relevant health and safety requirements, escalating any concerns relating to property condition, safety or suitability.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of temporary accommodation processes, helping to improve efficiency, reduce avoidable costs and maximise the use of available stock.
• Maintain a professional, respectful and responsive approach when dealing with residents, colleagues, contractors and partner organisations.
