Job summary

Daisy Communications Limited in Nelson is seeking a Telematics Engineer to provide expert technical support for customers using telematics devices and software platforms. The role focuses on diagnosing issues, provisioning devices, and coordinating resolutions to ensure service reliability.

Salary up to £27,000 per annum, 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm. Benefits include substantial holiday allowance, birthday day off, referral bonus, and professional development

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a technical support, customer service, or helpdesk environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, or connectivity issues.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and service management processes.
  • Experience managing stock, equipment, or logistics processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and customer support systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first line and second-line technical support for customers using telematics and vehicle tracking solutions.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues to minimize downtime.
  • Respond to customer enquiries via phone, email and ticketing systems with professionalism.
  • Configure, provision and test telematics devices before deployment and ensure proper programming.
  • Prepare and dispatch telematics equipment and installation kits for new orders.
  • Maintain accurate records of support cases, installations and device inventories.
  • Liaise with internal teams, suppliers and partners to coordinate fault resolution and installations.
  • Monitor system performance and suggest improvements to enhance reliability and experience.

We’re looking for a Telematics Engineer to provide expert technical support for customers using telematics and vehicle tracking solutions, ensuring a high level of service and customer satisfaction.

Job Title: Technology Engineer - Telematics
Salary: Up to £27,000.00 per annum
Location: Nelson
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, working between the hours of 8am an 6pm (37.5 hours)

What You'll Be Doing

As a Telematics Engineer, you will:

  • Provide first line and second-line technical support for customers experiencing faults or issues with telematics devices and associated software platforms.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal customer downtime.
  • Respond to customer enquiries via phone, email, and ticketing systems, delivering professional and customer-focused support.
  • Configure, provision, and test telematics devices prior to deployment, ensuring equipment is fully operational and accurately programmed.
  • Prepare and dispatch telematics equipment and installation kits for new customer orders, maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of support cases, installations, and device inventories, ensuring all information is accurately documented.
  • Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and installation partners to coordinate fault resolution, repairs, replacements, and customer implementations.
  • Monitor telematics system performance and identify recurring issues, providing feedback and recommendations to improve service reliability and customer experience.
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience in a technical support, customer service, or helpdesk environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, or connectivity issues.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and service management processes.
  • Experience managing stock, equipment, or logistics processes.
