Job summary

Auto Skills UK in Wymondham is seeking a Vehicle Technician to service, maintain and repair customer vehicles to a high standard, using modern diagnostic equipment.

You will work Monday to Friday with Saturdays when required; NVQ Level 3 or an equivalent qualification is required, along with a full UK driving licence. Ongoing manufacturer training and a supportive team environment are provided to help you progress.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• Experience as a Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic.
• Understanding of vehicle electrical systems and diagnostics.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to work in a busy workshop.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and routine vehicle maintenance.
• Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance as required.
• Diagnose faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
• Complete vehicle health checks and record work carried out.
• Interpret wiring diagrams and ensure quality standards.
• Work in line with health and safety procedures.
• Provide professional advice and support within the team.

Location: Wymondham
Salary: Up to £34,000 Depedning on Experience & OTE: £38,500
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday With Saturday morning when required

THE ROLE

As a Motor Vehicle Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing customer vehicles to a high standard, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and correctly.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out servicing and routine vehicle maintenance
• Completing mechanical repairs and maintenance
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Using modern diagnostic equipment to identify faults
• Carrying out warranty repairs
• Completing vehicle health checks
• Accurately recording work carried out and parts used
• Interpreting technical information and wiring diagrams
• Ensuring all repairs meet the required quality standards
• Following workshop health and safety procedures
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
• Working efficiently with minimal supervision
• Providing professional advice and support where required
• Working as part of a close-knit workshop team

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for an experienced technician who has:

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
• Good understanding of vehicle electrical systems
• Ability to interpret technical wiring diagrams
• Experience carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance
• Good attention to detail and high standards of workmanship
• A full UK driving licence
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A positive, reliable and professional attitude
• The ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment

MOT Tester qualification would be desirable but is not essential.

Experience with r light commercial vehicles would be advantageous, but is not essential, with training available to develop your skills further.
