Perfect Placement UK Ltd is recruiting for a skilled Vehicle Technician for a reputable family-run service centre in Wallingford. The role offers a competitive salary, bonus potential, and structured development within a busy workshop.

You will diagnose, service, and repair a variety of vehicles, reporting findings to the Workshop Manager. Mon–Fri, 8:00am–5:30pm with breaks, opportunity for overtime and clear routes to progression.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence with minimal points.
• IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
• Extensive practical experience as a Vehicle Technician is required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• MOT testing license would be advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out fault diagnosis, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles.
• Accurately diagnose faults and report vehicle conditions to the Workshop Manager.
• Ensure work follows health and safety standards and quality procedures.
• Assist at the front desk during busy periods, including booking in/out work and handling inquiries.
• Maintain high workmanship standards in a fast-paced environment.
• Contribute to workshop efficiency and productivity.

Our client, a reputable family-run independent service centre based in Wallingford, is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join their busy workshop. Duties of the Vehicle Technician:

• Carry out fault diagnosis, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles
• Accurately diagnose faults and report vehicle conditions, safety, reliability, and performance issues to the Workshop Manager
• Ensure work is completed following health and safety standards and quality procedures
• Assist at the front desk during busy periods, including booking in/out work and handling customer inquiries
• Maintain high standards of workmanship in a fast-paced, demanding environment
• Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the workshop

Requirements:

• NECESSARY: Valid UK driving licence with minimal points
• Desirable: IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (not essential if extensive practical experience is demonstrated)
• Extensive practical experience as a Vehicle Technician, with the ability to work independently and take initiative
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
• Strong work ethic and motivation to achieve targets set by management
• Ability to deliver high-quality work consistently in a busy workshop environment
• An MOT testing license (Class 4 or 7) would be advantageous but is not essential
