Job summary

Auto Skills UK is seeking a Vehicle Technician in Sunderland to service, maintain, diagnose and repair vehicles to manufacturer standards. You will work in a busy workshop, documenting work and providing high-quality workmanship.

Essential NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, plus 2+ years' experience. Own tools, a full UK driving licence, and right to work in the UK are required; sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is essential.
• At least 2 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic in the automotive industry.
• Ownership of your own tools and toolbox.
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence is required (licence checks).
• Right to work in the UK; sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair work.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently.
• Perform assembly operations to manufacturer standards.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer and health & safety guidelines.
• Accurately documenting all completed service and repair work.
• Provide technical advice and support where required.
• Work collaboratively with the workshop team to maximise productivity.
• Deliver exceptional workmanship and customer satisfaction.

THE ROLE

As a Vehicle Technician, you'll be responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to the highest standards while ensuring every vehicle is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with manufacturer requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repair work

ABOUT YOU

We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (essential)At least 2 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic within the automotive industry
• Strong technical knowledge and diagnostic skills
• MOT Tester Licence desirable but not essential
• Ownership of your own tools and toolbox
• A positive attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence (subject to licence checks)
• The right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available)
