Job description

At Nutrient, we equip developers and innovators with cutting‑edge tools to simplify workflows and accelerate impactful software creation. We’re on a mission to redefine how documents are created, shared, and experienced. Our software development kits enable companies to work smarter and faster, saving time and expenses along the way, while effectively replacing the need for paper processes.

Whether you’re optimizing APIs, enhancing user experiences, or helping the world learn about our products, joining Nutrient means contributing to solutions that impact over one billion end users worldwide.

Why This Role Matters…

At Nutrient, we see documentation as a core part of the developer experience — not an afterthought. For many users, it’s the first interaction they’ll have with our technology, and the place they’ll return to when they need answers. That makes it a critical part of how our products are understood, adopted, and trusted. As a Technical Writer (and Documentation Engineer), you’ll focus less on writing every word yourself and more on owning the health and evolution of our documentation ecosystem. You’ll collaborate with developers who often create the first drafts of technical content, then ensure that what ships is accurate, consistent, searchable, and easy to follow. You will ensure a seamless journey for developers, whether they are evaluating our products, building their first implementation, or seeking to upgrade or expand functionality.

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Create, maintain and continuously improve documentation by working closely with engineering and other relevant teams to identify relevant content for new and existing functionality.
  • Coordinate, oversee, and participate in the development of high‑quality technical content in collaboration with the engineering teams. Provide them guidance to maintain high documentation standards following a clear information architecture that provides consistency and clarity across technical guides, code samples, and API references.
  • Leverage data to inform optimization strategies and drive inbound traffic in coordination with our marketing team. Ensure documentation is easily discoverable and aligned with how customers search for solutions. Monitor and report on key performance metrics, such as trials and leads originating from documentation.
  • Spearhead the continuous improvement of our documentation process, guaranteeing quality standards remain met without introducing obstacles to the speed, agility, and ease of documentation creation. This includes designing and building tools, templates, and linters to support documentation efforts.
  • Stay up to speed with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in the documentation space, including GenAI, and find ways to leverage them to improve the experience.
  • Optimize the customer onboarding journey, providing the best possible developer experience.

This role opens doors to continuous learning across domains — writing, engineering, and the evolving world of digital documents. You’ll be encouraged to experiment, prototype, and lead initiatives that make documents more human‑centered and accessible. When you see a better way to help people learn or build faster, you’ll have the tools and support to make it happen.

What You'll Bring…
Requirements
  • A background in technical writing, communications, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of documentation processes and best practices in the developer tools space.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across various departments.
Nice Have
  • Prior experience in drafting documentation for developer tools, projects and/or products.
  • Familiarity with document management systems and data analysis tools.
Why You’ll Love Working Here…

We are a globally distributed company, backed by Insight Partners. We embrace a low‑meeting culture and prioritize asynchronous communication to provide flexibility and focus.

We offer competitive salaries, comprehensive benefits, and an annual global retreat to celebrate achievements and foster connections. Past retreats have taken place in locations like Croatia, Spain, and Greece.

We are a remote company. To ensure overlap with most the team across the US, Europe and Asia, we’re looking for someone who will have a significant overlap with US and European working hours. If working from the US, you must be located in Florida, Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, or Virginia for payroll processing.

Nutrient believes in equal opportunity, and we employ people from many different cultures and countries. We celebrate diversity and are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, skill sets, perspectives, as well as providing our employees with a work environment free of harassment. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, age, marital status, national origin, ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other non‑merit factor.
