Job summary

Emplyfy in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Technical Systems Engineer to join a high-tech managed IT services provider. The role covers technical support, infrastructure maintenance, and hands-on work at client sites, with end-to-end ownership of issues.

You will work across multiple technologies, manage service requests, and keep documentation up to date while delivering effective solutions and excellent customer service. The position is on-site in Southampton.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a relevant IT role with strong customer focus.
• Mandatory Cyber Essentials and GDPR security standards implementation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 apps and cloud services (Email, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive).
• Experience with Intune, remote monitoring platforms and telephone systems.
• Networking knowledge including routers, switches and security configurations.
• Ability to coordinate with external partners and document IT processes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical contact for customers and provide effective IT solutions.
• Visit customer premises to diagnose faults, perform repairs and scheduled maintenance.
• Manage support cases and service requests via the Service Desk platform.
• Keep customers informed throughout the support process and meet SLAs.
• Escalate incidents requiring management intervention as needed.
• Review priorities and manage workload to ensure actions are completed.
• Monitor client environments to ensure business needs are met.
• Carry out installation, configuration, testing, maintenance and repair of hardware and software.
• Maintaining up-to-date technical records and tickets.
• Take ownership of urgent incidents, remote or on-site.
