Job description

cutting-edge biomechanics and neuromuscular function laboratories. You will play a vital role in supporting teaching and research, managing specialist equipment, ensuring health and safety compliance, and mentoring technical colleagues. This is a hands-on, people-focused role where your expertise will directly impact the learning experience of students and the success of research projects. You'll work closely with academics, students, and fellow technicians in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinating technical operations across teaching and research labs.
  • Managing and maintaining specialist equipment including EMG, dynamometers, force plates, and 3D motion capture systems.
  • Supporting laboratory-based teaching and supervising students.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining documentation.
  • Leading and mentoring technical staff, contributing to their development.
  • Collaborating on policy development and supporting outreach events.
Qualifications / Experience
  • Experience in biomechanics and neuromuscular function lab environments.
  • Strong technical skills and familiarity with relevant software (e.g., motion analysis tools).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • A Level 4 qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent industry experience.
