Job summary

Howells Recruitment is seeking a Technical Business Development Manager - Passive Fire for London and East Anglia. You will engage with site-based enquiries to understand scope, price projects and improve conversion by building strong client relationships.

Significant construction industry experience and knowledge of passive fire protection (fire doors, compartmentation) are essential; a solution‑driven sales approach and excellent communication are required.

Qualifications

• Experience selling and/or estimating passive fire services.
• In-depth knowledge of passive fire protection market, products and systems.
• ASFP IFE Level 1, 2 & 3 qualifications desirable.
• Ability to rapidly develop technical product knowledge.
• Solution-based sales approach with strong customer service orientation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrable technical sales ability with in‑depth understanding of fire doors and fire stopping applications.
• Increase client-facing and site visit activities focusing on Healthcare, Student Accommodation, Public Sector and Housing Associations; develop market plan.
• Attain, grow and manage several of the business's largest clients.
• Drive profitable sales expansion by acquiring new accounts.
• Identify early opportunities to maximise share of wallet in fire stopping and passive fire related opportunities.
• Deliver business development presentations, negotiate and close with nominated accounts; coordinate with location BD resources.
• Achieve sales goals by converting, retaining and penetrating accounts.
• Manage incoming enquiries through effective customer relations.
• Lead qualification, relationship building, needs evaluation, solution development/presentation and closing in the sales process.
• Participate in regular pipeline reviews; keep CRM up to date with critical success factors.
