PRS Engineering has engaged with a key client & a UK-wide leading Building Services & facilities management company, specialising in innovation and revolutionization. Due to team expansion, we are seeking an experienced Technical Operations Manager (Mechanical Bias) on a 12-month FTC. This role will be based at the Stevenage facility in Hertfordshire.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Operations Manager with a Mechanical Bias

  • Accountable for fostering a culture of psychological safety within the workforce, coaching direct reports to ensure successful delivery of foundation and improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory, critical, and GxP deliverables.
  • Delivering exceptional stakeholder engagement, maintaining high standards of client interface at all levels of the operation.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring key stakeholders are engaged, informed, and confident in our ability to provide world-class service.
  • Overseeing team key performance indicators and service level agreements, conducting reviews to ensure their relevance and accuracy against evolving business models.
  • Ensuring resilience planning is conducted across all operational areas.
  • Ensuring technical competency of Operations Team staff across all spheres of influence.
  • Serving as a senior conduit between Operations and internal/external stakeholders to promote continuous improvement aligned with the Site Information Pack.
  • Assisting in the development of strategic plans, including organisational structure modelling and change management actions.
  • Implementing succession planning across all functions within the operations teams.
  • Delivering and implementing tactical actions in line with strategic plans.
  • Engaging with the Procurement team to manage cost-effective procurement of all Technical Services, influencing the supply chain.
  • Deputising for the Head of Technical Operations when required.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree / HND / HNC in Engineering, Building Services, or a similar discipline, or relevant Level 5 professional qualification.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience leading teams in an Engineering / Facilities Management environment, preferably in a highly regulated setting.
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate or working towards it.
  • Strong understanding and experience of workplace safety management in a technical, front-line environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant building services statutory regulations, codes of practice, and quality control.
  • Ability to maintain composure in a demanding, active, and client-facing environment.
