Job summary

Claridge's in London is seeking a skilled Technical Operations Manager to join the Engineering team in Mayfair. You will lead the maintenance and facilities program, ensuring safety, reliability and exceptional guest experience across building services.

You'll develop robust maintenance regimes for M&E, manage teams, and ensure compliance with UK health and safety standards. A proven hotel maintenance leader with strong stakeholder management is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hotel maintenance or engineering leadership role.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, refrigeration and plumbing systems.
• Strong understanding of health & safety regulations and inspections.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to develop and implement maintenance programmes.

Responsibilities

• Lead planned and preventative maintenance across M&E, structure, fabric and FF&E.
• Ensure staffing and training sufficiency for all engineering departments.
• Maintain asset value and deliver exceptional guest and colleague experiences.
• Ensure compliance with UK health & safety regulations and timely inspections.
• Oversee reactive maintenance system to minimise downtime.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Operations Manager to join the Claridge's Engineering team. Set in the heart of Mayfair, Claridge's is an art deco icon and a byword for understated elegance. Claridge's has a famous all-day dining and Afternoon Tea restaurant the 'Foyer & Reading Room', L'Epicerie that offers a culinary theatre of the kitchen, and three bars: Claridge's Bar, the intimate Fumoir and effortlessly elegant Painter's Room. As a Technical Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Protect the Company's interests in the building, plant and equipment, ensuring the safety of guests, visitors and colleagues.
• Maintain the asset value of the property and enhance, refine and improve presentation and operating effectiveness to provide an exceptional guest and colleague experience.
• To ensure that the departments are correctly staffed and trained with a suitable team for their function, and to ensure that these team members can perform their duties to the standard required by the hotel and the company.
• Develop and implement a robust Planned and Preventative Maintenance regime across M&E services, structure, fabric and FF&E
• Establish and implement a perfect room programme in accordance with Claridges standards and budgetary expectations
• Ensure compliance of plant and equipment in line with UK health & safety regulations, ensuring all statutory inspections are completed within time and follow-up actions required as necessary.
• Ensure reactive maintenance system (KnowCross) is fully operational to limit downtime of bedrooms and services Demonstrate genuine dedication to Claridge's and show a commitment to consistent quality in our product and service
• Have experience working in a similar role within a hotel environment.
• Be a proven leader, adaptable and has exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Have extensive knowledge of electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, plumbing, plant rooms and general building maintenance.
• Have strong customer care skills
• Be flexible and adaptably, and have the ability to work under pressure
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail
• Display a high standard of personal presentation with a confident, professional and welcoming personality
