NPAworldwide is seeking a Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead for a live Central Government project in the UK. You will guide a collaborative Agile team while remaining hands-on, building bespoke software to solve complex operational challenges.

You will design, develop and test end-to-end solutions, lead engineers, and communicate with clients. Hybrid working, £70k–£85k, and a strong learning and development ethos are offered.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial Java development experience.
• Experience designing and building AWS-based solutions.
• Full-stack development with JavaScript, React and TypeScript.
• Experience leading engineers or providing technical direction.
• Understanding of software architecture and technical design.
• Experience across the full SDLC.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to translate customer challenges into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of software engineers.
• Design, develop and test bespoke software solutions.
• Provide technical direction and client communication.
• Produce solution architectures and technical designs.
• Build full‑stack apps with Java, JavaScript, React and TypeScript.
• Design and deploy cloud-based solutions (AWS).
• Create CI pipelines using GitLab.
• Work across the full software development lifecycle.
• Deploy software to public and private cloud environments.
• Promote high standards of quality, security and engineering practice.
