NPAworldwide is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer/Technical Lead to guide a live Central Government project while staying hands-on with development. You will lead a collaborative Agile team, design architectures, and deliver bespoke software solutions across the full SDLC.

The role focuses on Java, JavaScript, React, TypeScript, and AWS, with strong emphasis on technical direction, client communication, and quality standards. Hybrid working and professional training are offered.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial Java development experience.
• Experience designing and building solutions in AWS.
• Full-stack development experience using JavaScript, React and TypeScript.
• Previous experience leading engineers or providing technical direction.
• An understanding of software architecture and technical design.
• Experience working throughout the full software development lifecycle.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-engagement skills.
• The ability to understand customer challenges and translate them into practical technical solutions.
• Consultancy experience would be helpful, but it is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Leading and supporting a team of software engineers
• Designing, developing and testing bespoke software solutions
• Providing technical direction and communicating clearly with clients
• Producing solution architectures and technical designs
• Building full-stack applications using Java, JavaScript, React and TypeScript
• Designing and deploying cloud-based solutions, primarily using AWS
• Creating continuous integration pipelines using tools such as GitLab
• Working across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through to delivery, support and maintenance
• Deploying software into public and private cloud environments
• Promoting high standards of software quality, security and engineering practice
