Job summary

NPAworldwide is recruiting a Senior Software Engineer/Technical Lead for a live Central Government project. You will lead a hands-on team, shape architectures and deliver cloud-based solutions using AWS, Java and modern web tech.

The role offers a flexible 37.5-hour hybrid week, learning budget, pension and private healthcare, plus career coaching and regular socials. UK citizen with five years' residency would fit the eligibility criteria.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience in software engineering and modern application development.
• Experience building scalable applications, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Experience working with cloud platforms and modern software delivery practices.
• Good understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, containers, and Infrastructure as Code.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of software engineers.
• Design, develop and test bespoke software solutions.
• Provide technical direction and communicate clearly with clients.
• Produce solution architectures and technical designs.
• Build full-stack applications using Java, JavaScript, React and TypeScript.
• Design and deploy cloud-based solutions, primarily using AWS.
• Create CI pipelines using GitLab or similar tools.
• Work across the full software development lifecycle from requirements to delivery and maintenance.
• Deploy software into public and private cloud environments.
• Promote high standards of software quality, security and engineering practice.
