Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director / Associate Director to lead and develop the Ground Engineering team across national projects. You will drive technical excellence, oversee major geotechnical analyses, and strengthen client relationships while expanding the business pipeline.

Prospective candidates will hold a Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology degree (2:1 or higher), Chartered status, and demonstrable UK geotechnical knowledge.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology with 2:1 (or higher).
• MSc/MEng in Soil Mechanics, Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology is advantageous.
• Chartered status required/advantageous depending on candidate.

Responsibilities

• Oversee input, peer review and verification of geotechnical data and analyses and design calculations.
• Provide consultative advice to external partners during project life cycle.
• Manage geotechnical projects including planning schedules, coordination and budget.
• Lead and mentor Ground Engineering team to deliver projects on time and to quality.
• Maintain industry presence and build relationships to support pipelines.
• Take Ground Engineering lead for multi-disciplinary project delivery to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Transport, Water, Energy and Buildings teams on project works and tenders.
• Mentor junior team members and provide development guidance.
