Job summary

Orion Electrotech - Engineering & Technical is seeking a Business Development Representative to join a technology-led manufacturing business. You will identify opportunities, generate leads and support future growth across global markets.

The role focuses on engaging with engineering professionals, researching markets, and qualifying leads for demonstrations. A technical degree and CRM/ERP familiarity are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within sales development, lead generation, business development or outbound customer engagement.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence speaking with technical and engineering professionals.
• Good IT skills and the ability to learn CRM and ERP systems.
• A proactive, resilient and target-driven approach.
• A technical degree or experience within engineering or manufacturing would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Proactively contacting prospective customers through phone, email and professional networking channels.
• Researching new markets, identifying opportunities and engaging net new customers.
• Qualifying leads and booking demonstrations for the field sales team.
• Following up inbound enquiries and supporting lead development activities.
• Working closely with sales colleagues to ensure a smooth transition from lead generation to customer engagement.
