Job summary

Actian is seeking a highly technical Tech Lead to guide a small 3–4 engineer team. You will write quality backend code, architect robust systems, and lead by example in a SaaS stack using Scala, Python, and TypeScript.

You will leverage AI coding agents to multiply output while maintaining quality, mentor the team, and ensure production readiness in cloud environments. Flexible remote/hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Backend experience building and scaling cloud-native SaaS platforms.
• Production-proven Scala; Python or TS a plus.
• Expertise using AI coding agents to improve efficiency and review AI-generated code.
• Builder mindset focused on shipping features over management tasks.
• Product empathy and motivation to align with user goals.
• High ownership leadership with responsibility for team output.
• Excellent English communication for collaboration with product owners.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on coding and execution of complex backend challenges.
• Guide technical direction using Scala and Python; TS for full-stack delivery.
• Advocate and teach AI coding agents to accelerate delivery.
• Own technical execution aligned with product vision and goals.
• Ensure multi-tenant cloud scalability and production deployment.
• Mentor engineers through pair programming and code reviews.
• Hit team milestones and proactively remove blockers.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to refine features.
• Maintain production health, security, and efficiency in the cloud.
