Job summary

Capital One (Europe) plc is seeking a Junior Finance Cost Business Partner in our Nottingham office. The role combines FP&A support with business partnering across the Tech area, guiding monthly processes, reporting, budgeting and outlook preparation.

You will interact with senior stakeholders, own relationships, and drive financially sound decisions. The role offers hybrid working with 3 in-office days (Tue-Thu) and 2 remote days, based in Nottingham.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to build repeatable solutions.
• Advanced Google Sheets/Excel skills.
• Coding experience is a plus; willingness to develop coding via AI.
• Excellent communication with junior and senior stakeholders.
• Ability to discuss financials and business impacts.
• Proactive team player with collaboration across Finance.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to accuracy.
• Interest in continuous improvement and new technologies.
• Studying towards an Accounting qualification is a plus.
• Experience as Finance Business Partner for Tech is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize and simplify financial and non-financial data for reporting.
• Develop strong business relationships with Finance to contextualise numbers.
• Partner with stakeholders to produce monthly outlook and annual budget reports.
• Ensure month-end activity is completed accurately and on time.
• Conduct monthly reporting, variance analysis, and commentary; manage journals.
• Streamline monthly processes and identify efficiency gains, including automation.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders on cross-departmental projects and investment decisions.
