Job summary

Capital One in Nottingham is seeking an FP&A Analyst to drive our finance and planning activities in a hybrid setting. The role focuses on executive reporting, portfolio insights, and partnering with US teams to deliver key messages for the business.

You will synthesize data, support month-end and quarterly reviews, and help improve reporting quality while collaborating with finance partners across the organisation. A strong analytical mindset and comfort with data tools are essential.

Qualifications

• Functional knowledge of accounting and financial principles (P&L, budget, forecast).
• Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to delivering results.
• Strong analytical skills e.g. outlook variance, overall story, accuracy, spotting errors.
• Communication - written and verbal with internal and external teams.
• Relationship building and stakeholder management with teams internal and external to Finance.
• Continuous improvement and change-agility mindset.
• Willingness to learn new tools (Python, SQL, Snowflake, AI tools).

Responsibilities

• Synthesising and simplifying financial and non-financial data.
• Supporting in production of Month End reports.
• Working with team members and the wider FP&A team to feed into monthly financials review (MFR) meetings and/or other reporting requirements.
• Supporting delivery of Quarterly Financial reviews and other monthly/quarterly tasks at high quality and within deadlines.
• Supporting ad hoc reporting requests from leadership.
• Developing reporting to facilitate monitoring and communication of performance against targets or to support review of outlooks (i.e. forecasts) and budgets.
• Ensuring reporting reflects the most up-to-date and accurate information available.
• Supporting in depth analysis into our portfolio to drive key financial insights.
