Job summary

Wolseley UK Limited, trading as Plumb Centre in Norwich, is seeking a Team Supervisor to oversee branch operations and support day-to-day activities. The role emphasizes supervising staff, ensuring service quality, and guiding colleagues to achieve targets while assisting customers at the trade counter and via phone/email.

The role is full-time with a 40-hour week, 07:00–17:00 Monday to Friday and Saturday on a rota, offering £29,400 salary plus bonus and extensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Health and safety requirements including first aid, manual handling and fire safety.
• Knowledge of transport legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to interpret numerical and written information.
• Proficiency in proactive sales techniques, merchandising and margin maximisation.
• Knowledge of branch product lines and Wolseley systems.
• Familiarity with branch administration, audit trails, supply chain and policies.
• IT systems: using Microsoft packages for documents and data work.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Branch Manager with day-to-day operations and take charge in their absence.
• Supervise and support colleagues with training and performance feedback.
• Mainly office-based, handling phones and emails to service customers.
• Serve customers on the trade counter with advice and product knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Branch Manager/ Branch Supervisor with the day to day running and operations within the branch and take charge when they are not available.
• Supervising and supporting colleagues, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to achieve targets and goals.
• Mainly office based, phones and emails servicing customers.
• Serving customers on the trade counter, offering advice and product knowledge.

This is a full‑time, permanent role working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday between 07:00AM - 17:00PM and Saturday on a rota basis 08:00AM - 12:00PM.

Qualifications

• Health and safety requirements, particularly in first aid, manual handling, fire situations and appropriate mechanical handling.
• Also know about transport legislation.
• Confidently work with and interpret numerical and written information.
• Knowing about proactive and advanced sales techniques, merchandising, and ways to maximise margin.
• Knowing about the specific product lines stocked by the branch and Wolseley systems.
• Knowing about branch administration, audit trail, supply chain and policies.
• IT Systems: use Microsoft packages for creating documents and working with data.
