Job description

Team Nurses get the chance to spend time with the children and their families, developing strong relationships with families and meeting their individual needs. You will have the ability to work both in a team and independently and work using your own initiative as well as accessing and contributing to the skill base of the wider team.

Main duties of the job

As part of the Nursing Team, working in line with Julias House policies and procedures, provide family centered respite care both in the Hospice and Community for children who have life limiting and life threatening conditions. When necessary, provide a flexible and responsive approach to support the requirements of end of life care.

Job responsibilities

You will have experience in clinical nursing assessment, planning and delivering care which will be evidence based in conjunction with Julias House policies and procedures to deliver safe care to children and young people with complex needs that will often change. You will feel confident in using your clinical judgement and making autonomous decisions about nursing care requirements. You will participate in an on call rota system to provide telephone advice for staff and families. You will have Day-to-day management of the client base, including the deployment, supervision and teaching of Care Team members. You will have opportunities to broaden your skills with excellent training and development.
