Job summary

Henderson Group in Dundonald and East Belfast is seeking a Team Leader to help steer the store team and deliver a shopping experience that exceeds our customers' expectations.

Reporting to the Assistant Manager or Store Manager, you will lead shifts, train staff, and ensure resources are in the right place at the right time to serve our community.

This full-time role offers 42.5 hours per week with morning, evening and weekend coverage, a competitive hourly rate of £14.83 and a benefits package.

Qualifications

• Age 18+ and previous store retail experience.
• At least 6 months experience leading a team in a customer-focused environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team to follow policies and standards.
• Be the in-store lead in the absence of other leaders (keyholder).
• Model set values of Ambition, Customer First, Teamwork and Integrity.
• Train, manage workload and stay hands-on to meet resource needs.
• Support Store Manager to maximise performance and priorities.
• Promote community initiatives and assist with Post Office duties when required.

Multiple full-time positions available at 42.5 hours per week. Availability to cover morning, evening & weekend shifts within the hours of 6:00am - midnight, Monday to Sunday, with a degree of flexibility required.

A look into the role

Reporting to the Assistant Manager and/or Store Manager you will help to lead the store team to provide a shopping experience that exceeds our customers' expectations and makes a difference in the local community.

As Team Leader you will:

• Alongside the Assistant Manager and/or Store Manager - leading the store team to follow store policies, standards and practices.
• Taking responsibility for the store in the absence of other leaders (includes keyholder responsibility).
• Be a positive role model to the team and represent our values of Ambition, Customer First, Teamwork and Integrity.
• Train, manage the workload and support your team, whilst being hands on in store - ensuring you work together to achieve the right resources in the right place at the right time to deliver the best customer experience.
• Support the Store Manager to maximise store performance which includes understanding and implementing the store plan and priorities.
• Alongside the store team, actively promote and get involved in initiatives to support the local community.
• You may be required to cover the Post Office when required as part of this role.

Skills for Success

Joining us as Team Leader, the minimum criteria you'll need is:

• You must be aged 18 years or over (for store legislative requirements) along with previous store retail experience, of which at least 6 months have been at a supervisory level leading a team of people in a customer-focused environment.
• A natural ability to listen, interact and communicate with customers and team members
• Target driven to help to store achieve their business plans/priorities and be focused on continuous improvement.
• Be able to inspire everyone to do their best for each other and the customer.
