Job summary

Henderson Group in the Coleraine/Portstewart area is seeking a dedicated Team Leader to help lead the store team and deliver exceptional customer service, aligning with our values of Ambition, Customer First, Teamwork and Integrity.

This full-time, 30-hour per week role reports to the Assistant Manager or Store Manager, covers early to late shifts (6:00am–midnight) and weekends, with flexibility to ensure the best shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Age 18+ and prior store retail experience with at least 6 months in a supervisory role
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team to follow store policies, standards and practices.
• Take responsibility for the store in the absence of other leaders (includes keyholder duties).
• Be a positive role model and uphold our values of Ambition, Customer First, Teamwork and Integrity.
• Train, manage workload and support team while being hands-on to ensure resources are in the right place for great customer experience.
• Support the Store Manager to maximise store performance by implementing the store plan and priorities.
• Promote and participate in initiatives that support the local community.
• May be required to cover the Post Office as part of the role.

Full time permanent position at 30 hours per week, working Monday to Sunday, 6:00am to midnight, with a degree of flexibility required to cover a variety of shifts including opening at 6:00am, closing at midnight and weekends will be expected.

A look into the role

Reporting to the Assistant Manager and/or Store Manager you will help to lead the store team to provide a shopping experience that exceeds our customers' expectations and makes a difference in the local community.

As Team Leader you will:

• Alongside the Assistant Manager and/or Store Manager - leading the store team to follow store policies, standards and practices.
• Taking responsibility for the store in the absence of other leaders (includes keyholder responsibility).
• Be a positive role model to the team and represent our values of Ambition, Customer First, Teamwork and Integrity.
• Train, manage the workload and support your team, whilst being hands on in store - ensuring you work together to achieve the right resources in the right place at the right time to deliver the best customer experience.
• Support the Store Manager to maximise store performance which includes understanding and implementing the store plan and priorities.
• Alongside the store team, actively promote and get involved in initiatives to support the local community.
• You may be required to cover the Post Office when required as part of this role.

Skills for Success

Joining us as Team Leader, the minimum criteria you'll need is:

• You must be aged 18 years or over (for store legislative requirements) along with previous store retail experience, of which at least 6 months have been at a supervisory level leading a team of people in a customer-focused environment.
• A natural ability to listen, interact and communicate with customers and team members
• Target driven to help to store achieve their business plans/priorities and be focused on continuous improvement.
• Be able to inspire everyone to do their best for each other and the customer.
