Job summary

ALS in Trowbridge is seeking a Team Leader for the Main Laboratory. You will lead a team of Technicians, Analysts and Microbiologists, ensuring high-quality data, safety, and client service. The role involves workload planning, QM coordination and continuous improvement in a fast-paced lab.

Ideal candidates have microbiology experience, strong communication, and proficiency with LIMS and MS Office. This is a full-time, on-site role with a 4 on 4 off schedule and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Experience in microbiological analysis across a broad range of methods.
  • Ability to organise workloads and lead a team in a busy lab.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office and LIMS.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17025:2017.

Responsibilities

  • Organise and manage the team's workload to meet targets and client turnaround times.
  • Monitor laboratory systems to ensure testing is completed within timeframes.
  • Oversee sample registration reviews and test selection.
  • Coordinate QM activities and ensure they are completed as scheduled.
  • Ensure retained samples and retests are set up within timescales.
  • Support results approval and out-of-specification reporting.
