Job summary

ALS is seeking a Logistics Technician in Wakefield to join the busy water testing laboratory team. You will register and prepare samples, pack containers for distribution, and ensure accurate handling of waste and returns. The role supports efficient lab operations and strict quality standards.

You will work 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday with occasional weekend rotation, in an environment that values accuracy, teamwork and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or 4, including Science, Maths and English.
  • Confident IT skills including Excel and Outlook, with the ability to learn in-house systems.
  • Able to work accurately to tight deadlines and prioritise tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Register and prepare incoming samples promptly and accurately.
  • Pack sample containers for distribution to customers.
  • Rotate sample bottles and dispose of them correctly after analysis.
  • Keep the workstation clean, tidy and well organised at all times.
  • Process returned items and laboratory waste for recycling or disposal.
