Job summary

ALS Wakefield is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (Grade 1) to join our Organics department. No prior lab experience? Full training will be provided. You will analyse samples using GC, GCMS and LCMS techniques and record results to quality standards.

The role requires a proactive, curious mindset and strong teamwork. Shift is 08:00–16:00, with flexi-time after training, within a 12-month fixed-term contract in Ossett, Wakefield.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures accurately.
  • Basic IT competency.
  • Proactive, client-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse samples using GC, GCMS, and LCMS techniques.
  • Record accurate results in line with quality standards and lab procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with UKAS accreditation and internal quality systems.
  • Support colleagues to meet daily performance targets.
  • Participate in the Taste and Odour panel on a rotational basis.
