Job summary

ALS Laboratories in Coventry invites applications for a Laboratory Analyst Grade 1 in the Organics department. This full-time, permanent role offers 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00, with an annual salary of £25,878.

You will follow established procedures, test samples, and record results to high standards. The role suits someone with GCSEs including science, maths and English, an A level in a scientific subject, and good numeracy and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above including Science, Maths and English.
  • An A level or equivalent in a scientific subject.
  • Willingness to learn and follow procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Computer literacy and ability to use standard software.

Responsibilities

  • Understand customer requirements.
  • Ensure samples are completed efficiently following all procedures and legislation.
  • Deliver on key performance indicators.
  • Report and understand analytical data.
  • Participate in the Taste and Odour panel on a rotation basis.
  • Assist team members to achieve work objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies.
